What a hit!

He slugged it clear to the outfield, the crowd cheered and the team watched with hope.

Til an internal candidate caught the ball.

He's OUT!

Interview Day

This is a continuation of Pros and Cons.

He steps up to the plate, silk tie in place. He kicks his toe in the dirt and taps the bat on the plate.

He spits, nods to the pitcher, rests the bat on his shoulder...

and swings...

Weighing the pro's and con's

This is a continuation of Part 2 - the Move

This week our "should we move?" debate is in full-swing, as hubby's interview is on Wednesday. There's so much to consider.

On the plus side to moving:

* significantly better schools
* significantly better job
* larger community with more opportunity

On the minus side to moving:

* moving (duh)
* commute to lake only on weekends, split life
* expensive second home
* complicated business move (phone, fax, internet, inventory)

Of course, he hasn't interviewed yet...

The next episode to our saga is: Interview Day.

Your comments are appreciated!

Progress

My house usually exists just above organized chaos, somewhere in the realm of "not gross", and "where did I put that?" But in the summertime, we seem to dip even below our normal standard.

My mother has very strict and outspoken opinions about my level of organization, which caused an earthshattering blowout between us a few months ago.

It was bad enough that I thought our relationship might actually be "over".

But mothers and daughters are funny that way. It seems no matter how much you emotionally beat up on each other, the band still binds.

Yesterday, she dropped in for a visit - unannounced, unplanned. And although there was no mistaking our household disorder, she said not a word, showed no disdain, made not a single non-verbal comment.

Progress.

MA - Part Two, The Move

If you didn't read yesterday's post, Multitasker's Anonymous, you should do so first, before reading part two.

In truth, the move happened a year ago. And believe it or not, the intention of the move really was to simplify our life.

Sell your house. Move your family to a new town. Simplify. Yeah, okay Liv.

I suppose you're thinking we're quart low on brain juice, but we actually both hold master's degrees. Here was the plan:

Sell the cabin, sell the house, move to a lake close-by to eliminate the running around on weekends. See? There really was method to our madness.

Problem was, the only decent lake was two towns away. No big deal, we'll commute. Oh, and the house we bought needed some work. Well, about $50K in work. So we did the work, went without TV, went without sleep, endured a 10-inch rainfall that flooded our basement during the "no-roof" stage, and oh - did I mention we lived there during all of this?

But we survived and the house is great. It's summer and we're enjoying the lake and beautiful view and the kids love it.

And now hubby may get a new job.

So we'll have to move.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!

Next? Weighing the Pros and Cons

Multitaskers Anonymous

Could it be an addiction?

Should I attend meetings?

Probably so, but when on earth would I fit them in?

If there was ever a poster-child for multitaskers anonymous (fictional, by the way), I would surely be her. Just the login names and passwords I maintain in my brain should really be electronically categorized. I've been meaning to do this, but...

My husband and I are both this way. We push our family's limits for madness, crack, fall apart and barely tread water for a bit, then pull it all together just long enough to get bored and take on another ridiculous endeavor.

So to try to simplify our lives, we've decided we should move.
